Maybe you’re trying to nix some empty calories by staying away from sugary drinks. Or, if you’re like most of us, you’re trying to find a fun and interesting way to get in those 6-8 glasses of water per day. No matter your reason, we thought we’d share these yummy ideas for infusing water with herbs, fruits and in some cases, even veggies!
1. Refresh Infusion – Take a few stems of spearmint and slice a half a cucumber. Add to your pitcher, pour water over, let chill in the refrigerator for 2-8 hours, then enjoy!
2. Exotic Infusion– Combine a small fistful of dried chamomile flowers, a few sprigs of mint and couple lightly crushed pods of cardamon. Add these ingredients to a pitcher of water, refrigerate for 24 hours and enjoy cold or warm.
3. Comforting Infusion– Take a cup of raspberries, and a cup of strawberries sliced lengthwise and a small clump of fresh basil leaves. Place your ingredients in a small pitcher or jar, fill with water and muddle gently before placing in the refrigerator for 24 hours. Then, strain and enjoy.
4. Detox Infusion– Slice a half a grapefruit, half a lemon, half a cucumber and along with a generous amount of rosemary, place in the bottom of a pitcher. Add water and let chill overnight before serving.
5. Chai Infusion– Take a couple tablespoons of thinly sliced ginger and a few sticks of cinnamon and let steep in a pitcher of water for a few days.
